KROSSADE TOMATER OCH SOCKERÄRTER (Crushed tomatoes och sugar snaps)

Source of inspiration for this work was tomato cans purchased at a promotional price from the local grocery store. I wish to reflect about the rising food prices and how we valuate different materials. The packaging materials, combined with silk, creates tension. So-called cheap and expensive materials meet one another. The colors and imagery draw inspiration from current trends in popular culture.

The main materials used are recycled food packages, wool fabrics, silk, and cotton-blend fabric. The tassels are made from recycled packaging plastic. Technique used is textile intarsia. Work is hand stitched.
